Just what is a Tuzigoot anyway?

Ah well! It is a name “we” have given to the site of the dwellings of an ancient culture in north central Arizona. We call the people Sinaqua which is Spanish for “without water.” They irrigated crops and built masonary, above ground, dwellings. They lived here from perhaps 1100 to 1400 AD and were long gone when the Spanish entered the valley in 1583. Continue reading Just what is a Tuzigoot anyway?

Hangin’ out at the 3,000 foot level.

Wow! Did we call that one right! Just talked to a couple that rolled in from Grand Canyon and Flagstaff this afternoon. They went to sleep last night to driving rain. When they woke up this morning it was all quiet and they thought the rain had gone away. Oops, there was a foot of snow covering everything. Indeed their coach had a foot of snow on top.
