Playing Sawmill:

Traveling around the way we do you never know when an opportunity is going to step up and smack you in the solar plexus. Here I am at sister Holly’s lakeside home sitting around like it is Margaritaville. We are swimming and having a great time when my Nephew, Carl Morgan, asks if I want to come over and play with him on his portable sawmill. Now beings the only productive thing I have done all week is wash the coach and trailer, I said “sure, why not.”

Now Carl marches to a different drummer than most. He guides white water rafts on the Wenatchee and Skykomish rivers. He is building a house for his family. Triathlon

Sometimes we are just at the right spot and at the right time. We are currently camping at Millerton Lake State Recreation Area near Fresno, CA. This morning the nearby boat ramp was invaded by a couple hundred triathletes and we had front row seats for the Millerton Lake Triathlon. These folks swam 400 yards, bicycled twelve miles and ran three miles. Six of the fastest men did the whole route in under an hour.

Friendly People:

Here we are in Inverness, Nova Scotia. This is on the route called the Ceilidh Trail, (pronounced kay-lee). It is along the Northumberland Strait. It is the same body of water that surrounds Prince Edward Island. The locals insist that the water here is the warmest water north of the Carolinas in the USA. You know what? It is warm. I went swimming in the ocean here at Inverness Beach. It was wonderful, the afternoon was quite warm and the swimming was quite refreshing. Now Judy wimped out on me. She only waded in the surf.
