We are winding up our last week here in Newfoundland. On Thursday we will hop back on the ferry for a fourteen hour ride back to Nova Scotia. We are anxious to get back and see how Path the green dragon, our tandem bicycle is doing. Without our bicycle we have been walking everywhere to visit the sights. A Prince of a Place:
We are really getting into the swing of the Maritimes now. We spent the past two days in Cap Pelé, which is in the far eastern end of New Brunswick, where it attaches to Nova Scotia and the bridge to Prince Edward Island. Looking for Old Fossils:
My grandson, Bryce, age 5, would love it here. We are in Dinosaur Provincial Park on the Red Deer River in Alberta Canada. There are lots of really old fossils here, and now I don’t have to feel so old. We tromped around the hills of these “bad lands” but we didn’t discover any new dinosaur bones. When It’s Springtime In the Rockies:
It is raining every day Well we did manage to sneak in a 10 km walk between rain showers today in Lake Louise.
Today we experienced one of life’s ironies. As we exited Trans Canada highway number 1 in Lake Louise we anticipated driving to the lake itself. We came to a four way intersection and found a billboard sized sign the warned that big rigs wouldn’t like the extreme alpine road conditions ahead. The Broken Record:
I guess records are made to be broken, but this is ridiculous. Here we are in the middle of the Sonora Desert, in Quartzsite Arizona. At this moment there is lightning flashing and thunder rolling, and the rain is pelting down. There is an inch of water all about the coach, and the wind is whistling around the corners.
