Judy and I returned to Bodega Bay after seeing Ed and Sarah off. As usual I worked out my route in detail using Topo USA by DeLorme, hooked up to my GPS. I sincerely dislike “surprises” like dead end roads, so I plan carefully. Continue reading Birder’s Paradise.

Just hanging Out in Gilroy:
We have spent the last few days at the home of Glen, our son, and his family. We disconnected the trailer and using Barb’s SUV we were able to back it into their driveway. Then we parked Arcturus, our 34 foot Alpine, at the curb and let the sliders extend over the lawn in the parking strip. It just fit. Continue reading Just hanging Out in Gilroy:
Good weather returns:
Nice weather has returned to Lake Havasu City Arizona and Judy and I are taking advantage of the sunshine and doing some nice bicycle rides. We have done 67 miles in the last five days including another trip up to the BLM office. Continue reading Good weather returns:
If we wanted to enjoy all this rain we’d a stayed in Scappoose!
I was under the impression that this area of Arizona was a desert. There are Prickly Pear cacti, Saguaro cacti, and Stag horn cacti. There is Grease wood and Mesquite shrubs. We now have slime in our bicycle tires to try to counteract the effect of the Goat head thorns. Yet I swear that they have already enjoyed their whole annual rainfall. Sunshine and Rain in Arizona
On Thursday we were able to explore the full ramifications of doing without a “Toad.” That is, a small car that you tow behind your motor home so you can go visit the nearby towns and tourist attractions. It is a lot of fun riding a bicycle up into Zion Canyon and along the rim of Grand Canyon where all you have to dodge are the shuttle buses. It is quite a different thing to thread your way along a narrow highway with no shoulder bikeway and a 65 mile per hour speed limit. Continue reading Sunshine and Rain in Arizona
