My grandson, Patrick, is a Boy Scout. When we arrived in Gilroy I made plans to join the troop on a weekend camp-out and hike with Glen and Patrick. Now I won’t accuse Glen of any skullduggery, but it does seem suspicious that as soon as the weather channel started predicting near freezing temperatures in Gilroy for this weekend, Glen was suddenly called to warm Montgomery, Alabama.

Redwoods
Here we are in California now. We haven’t noticed much change in temperature yet. The nights are close to freezing and days are low fifty’s. I know, “there is just no pleasing some people.” We did hurry this far because we heard there is a big storm approaching the Pacific Coast. Some points on the coast this weekend are anticipating winds of over forty miles per hour. We think we have gotten ourselves south of that and we are now somewhat inland in the midst of the California Coast Redwood Groves. Continue reading Redwoods
Breaking Camp
Wednesday was a day for saying goodbye, tying up all the loose ends and making ready to break camp. We have gotten way to comfortable here over the last three months.

We have been sitting more or less stationary for over two months now. We arrived back from our Alaska adventure on September 9th, and here it is now November 13th. We still have a couple weeks to go before we finish Judy’s session with the oral surgeon. She is in the process of getting some titanium implants to replace a failed bridge.
