After spending three very lazy days at my sister’s place on Newman Lake in Spokane, we are getting underway again. Judy and I visited with my Dad, Chester, a couple times. When we arrived for our first visit we were looking for Dad’s room. As we walked down the hallway we spied the rear end of a small pony sticking out of one of the rooms. The pony’s name turned out to be Sunny, and she is a regular visitor. When she comes to visit, she rides in a motor home. Everyone gets to pet Sunny, and sometimes she comes in costume. She has a tutu and a wedding dress. Oh yes, she has never had an accident! On our Saturday visit Gary brought his guitar and spent 45 minutes playing all the oldies we could think of. Everyone had a good time.
Today we are going to head for one of the campgrounds down toward the gorge and Tuesday we will be in Scappoose. Our first task will be to retrieve our sailboat, the Regal Jug, from storage and get it cleaned up and packed for the trip to the San Juan Islands. Friday we will head for Anacortes Washington and spend six weeks floating around the San Juan Islands and the Canadian Gulf Islands.
We will be staying with my sister, Cher, on Sequoia Street in Scappoose. She is a few houses off of Old Portland Road, and you will be sure to recognize our sail boat. Feel free to come over and visit while we are there. Don’t be surprised if you get a scrub brush thrust in your hands, however. If we happen to be away shopping or visiting our daughter in Beaverton, we will leave the scrub brushes and waxing cloths beside the garage.
Goodbye again and lots of love from Gary and Judy.
